Annie’s Children’s Center is hiring Assistant Teachers!

We are located at 5350 Park Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103

Come join our team of teachers working together with our play based curriculum. We offer a safe and fun learning environment to work in. The assistant teacher offers support to the lead teacher in the daily program for children, supervises the class, help with meals, and maintain a safe and clean environment.

We are hiring for 2 positions. We are in need of full time assistants. This full time position requires availability as early as 7:45am and as late at 6:00pm. We also are hiring for a 1:00-6:00 shift. We do offer health and vacation benefits for full time employees. You must pass the State required background checks, TB test and willing to do the required professional development. When you join our team as an Assistant Teacher you will:

· Assist teachers with the implementation of lessons in a way that is consistent with the unique needs of each child.

· Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.

· Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children

· Maintain positive relationships with families, teachers and state licensing authorities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.

· Help to maintain a fun and interactive classroom that is clean and organized.

JOB FUNCTIONS

· Participates in the planning and implementation of a play base curriculum.

· Responsible for actively participating in activities and meetings.

· Responsible for informing the lead teacher of any specific needs or concerns regarding the students.

· Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents and the community in professional, supportive and cooperative ways.

· Serves as a positive role model.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

· A High School diploma or equivalent

· Experience working in a licensed childcare facility preferred

· Coursework in early childhood education or child development preferred

· The ability to meet state requirements for education and experience

· Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work

· Must be at least 18 years of age

· A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day

· CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain

· Must meet state specific guidelines for the role

· Ability to speak, read, and write English.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.
