Entry-Mid level Sushi Chef Tahk Omakase Sushi
Tahk Omakase Sushi is looking to add a hardworking, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, Sushi Chef to our team. We are a small, high-end traditional Japanese cuisine and sushi restaurant located in downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Tahk Oamakse Sushi opened their doors in December of 2019 but has already become the most sought after restaurant in town! We specialize in Edomae style sushi and Izakaya hot plates. All of our fish is imported directly from Japan, from the Toyosu fish market. This allows us to provide our guests with a very high-quality product. We are open for dinner only, Tuesday through Saturday roughly 5:00 to 10:00pm. Tahk Omakase Sushi offers both table and sushi bar service, as well as an Omakase bar experience.
We are seeking a Japanese Chef who is reliable, punctual, self-motivated, confident, hardworking and ambitious. Pay is dependent upon experience. Preferred experience is 5 years, but all applications will be considered. Compensation also includes a generous cut of the tips

We are looking for a Sushi Chef with the following qualities:
Very engaging with guests in a friendly and genuine manner
Efficient communication skills with superiors and peers

Clean and organized in both appearance and in their workspace
Start strong and finish stronger
Skill & Responsibilities:
· Receiving, checking and organizing the fresh fish orders.
· Preparing and storing fish shipments in accordance with the Edomae style and health code standards.
· Help with keeping an inventory of fish, rice and other prep supplies so you can accurately create new orders and inform the FOH manger of what needs to be pushed and what to 86 for the night.
· Ability to properly prepare Nigiri, Sashimi, and Maki in the correct proportions and cuts, or be taught how
· Cleaning for the opening and closing of the sushi bar area in accordance to the owner’s and health code requirements.
· Properly reading POS tickets and plating guest orders in a timely manner.
· Strong understanding of the different types of fish
· Strong organization and time management skills.
