Junior Systems Operations Specialist - Banking Core Systems

- Administer core AIX/mainframe schedules and related interfaces including imaging technology and supports initiatives to automate processes.
- Assists System Administrator to maintain core financial systems (Symitar) and related software applications and server activities for high performance.
- Assists System Administrator to coordinate and ensure the off-site storage of data files, and test system backups and restores, including disaster recovery testing.
- Documents process, procedure, and system builds.
- Partners with other stakeholders and vendors to guarantee hardware and software are optimized for maximum performance with minimal disruption. Conducts research into hardware and software issues and products, makes recommendations, and implements solutions.
- Assists System Administrator to research, evaluate, plan, and implement new technologies to improve member delivery systems and organizational efficiency.
- Associate degree in Computer Science or related field, or 2 years of equivalent work experience;
- 2 years of progressively responsible Information Systems experience including hands on software and hardware troubleshooting, preferably within a financial institution.
