Job Description

As a Logistics Specialist – Bulk Commodity, you will work in close collaboration with the Front Office, Sales Operations, Plant Operations, Logistics providers and the regional sales managers to ensure that they are aware of the “art of the possible” at the time of making commitments.

As part of your role, you will be:

  • Accountable for the logistics execution, and tracking of Bulk Metal deliveries as per the Sales Tactical Plan and engaging with production team to ensure effective movement of Bulk Metals
  • Execute shipping and stockpile plans for export customers and stockpile plan for local customer and preparation of month end reporting information and costing information
  • Maintain and update the sales and logistics systems (Including SAP /Aspect data alignment) to deal with planning and execution and collaborate with the wider marketing team in the development of new delivery modes to enable RPM to better deliver to customer demands

This role is at our Johannesburg Corporate Office, at a Band 6 level reporting to the Logistics and Infrastructure Manager: Bulk and Base Metals.

Qualifications

  • Degree, preferably in Science, Commercial, Engineering or Business

Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in knowledge of bulks and metals industries and markets
  • Understanding of bulk freight logistics, shipping and the operations of a mine and plant refinery
  • Technical understanding of respective commodities and foundational knowledge of commodity industry participants, and global trade flows, grounding in international metals logistics best practice
  • Understanding of the production process, technical characteristics, market dynamics, commodity applications and activities to facilitate and execute sales effectively and efficiently to generate value
