THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING TAX DISTRICT LOCATIONS: MACON,DUBLIN, CARROLLTON, LaGRANGE or COLUMBUS The duties of this position are as follows, but are not limited to:Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff.

Oversees, plans and conducts advanced level financial or tax audits of assigned organizations or programs.

Establishes goals, objectives, and audit priorities, and recommends changes in rules and procedures.

Supervisors at this level generally oversee a full range of audits and are responsible for developing audit standards, investigating and resolving official complaints or grievances, monitoring problem institutions, providing expert testimony, etc.

Supervises and plans work of assigned staff.

Acts as auditor-in-charge. Audits financial records of employers to evaluate reporting and payment of state sales and business taxes, Unemployment Insurance, Worker's Compensation, and other tax-related obligations.

Audits financial records of state contractors to ensure proper financial controls and contractual compliance.

Inspects account books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions.

Leads or conducts auditing of establishments, and determines scope of investigation required.

Oversees the preparation of detailed reports on audit findings, asset utilization, audit results, and recommended changes in operations and financial activities.

Plans and conducts audits requiring technical expertise.

Prepares detailed reports on audit findings, asset utilization, audit results, and recommended changes in operations and financial activities.

Prepares, analyzes, and verifies annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.

Reviews audit reports of staff members for substance, correct methodology, accuracy, completeness and adequacy.
