The

AWS Software Developer - Lead is responsible for the design and development of

cloud native solutions that provide key API Services and orchestrate core business processes. This role participates in the design of cloud-native software and is directly responsible for programming as well as participating in testing and documentation through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Timely and effective communications to the team, organization and outside vendors are regularly disseminated as part of this job function.

This position is for an AWS software developer that will be directly responsible for developing cloud-native solutions.

We are not looking for a DevOps engineer or AWS architect. The following are required skills for the position;
  • Expertise in developing AWS cloud-native solutions using Python is a must
  • Strong experience with AWS serverless technologies is required (AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, DynamoDB, S3, etc )
  • Good working knowledge of AWS SAM for local development, creation of SAM templates (infrastructure-as-code), testing, and debugging
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills in order to effectively interact with the team members, clients and other technical staff remotely
Preferred Skills;
  • Cloud-Native Development is done using Python (Lambdas, containers, etc)
  • AWS serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, DynamoDB, AWS EventBridge, S3
  • Experience REST APIs and SOAP web services
  • Experience with JSON, XML, XSLT
  • Should be proficient using GIT source control
  • Knowledge of Splunk
  • AWS Certification (Developer/Solution Architect) is a plus
  • Relational Database Experience such as Oracle (preferred), SQL Server
  • Database Skills: PL/SQL, Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers etc
  • Must be able to switch among tasks on a frequent basis and remain productive
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses;
  • Some .NET/C# Experience is a plus
  • Extensive experience with the most current software engineering standards, practices, methods, tools and trends
  • Serve as technical expert on development, coding, testing and debugging stages of application and system integration

  • ESB—transitioning away from BizTalk to serverless AWS environment; needing to bring on a developer ot help with that transition.
