We are currently seeking an IT Manager in the outlying Detroit, MI area for a full-time permanent role. The Global IT Manager is primarily responsible for acting as the liaison between the Aftermarket business and Corporate IT organization, with the express role of building relationships with key leaders to understand the unique market opportunities and operating constraints within the respective product lines.

Responsibilities:
  • Seeks to identify opportunities to increase revenue and/or decrease cost through the use of process improvements and the use of relevant technology.
  • Understands the corporate business imperatives and IT strategy to be able to determine how corporate standard processes and systems should be adopted and deployed. Provides key inputs into the IT Strategy and Program Management Office.
  • Works with the IT PMO to facilitate program and project execution of projects affecting Aftermarket activities.
  • Serves as a customer advocate to the Global IT Operations and Applications Teams, ensuring that the respective businesses are receiving adequate operational support.
  • Responsible for administratively managing Aftermarket Business Analysts/Project Managers and 3rd party contractors, ensuring a sense of unity and local responsiveness while balancing the need for all staff to work as part of a global team.
  • Forms key relationships with Aftermarket business leaders to understand market opportunities and operating constraints in each country within the region.
  • Works with Aftermarket leaders, especially IT Product Group Directors, to understand applicable product group strategies and key initiatives requiring IT planning and support.
  • Facilitates business relationships between applicable regional leaders/staff/teams and corporate IT functions, including IT Strategy & Architecture, Program Management Office, Global IT Operations and all corporate applications groups
  • Provides feedback to the CIO and corporate IT team on perceived value of IT efforts in as well as risks/issues/opportunities
  • Participate in the creation of an Aftermarket approved I.T. strategy roadmap, including current state stabilization plan, risk mitigation measures, and path forward.
  • Facilitates Aftermarket application enhancements, minor, and major IT project initiatives Governance (rank and prioritization).
  • Creates and manages Aftermarket IT Budget planning, execution, and task management.
  • Understands corporate business imperatives (key aspects of the corporate business strategy)
  • Understands regional business imperatives (key aspects of region/country business strategies)
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a related discipline, such as Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science. Master’s degree in relevant discipline is preferred.
  • 8-10 years in related business, business process improvement or information technology work; manufacturing industries (automotive, aerospace, etc.) preferred. Experience in IT Strategy or IT Business Liaison preferred. Previous consulting experience (internal or external) highly preferred.
  • Basic financial skills; knows how to use and interpret metrics such as NPV, ROI, and IRR; knows how to develop and interpret IT investment business cases (understands inputs and outputs)
  • Basic technology acumen; familiar with key concepts around data, applications and infrastructure
  • Basic process design skills; knows how to apply process analysis and design tools and techniques
  • Project management skills; ability to multi-task and keep all projects on schedule
  • Stakeholder management skills; excellent relationships with business and IT executives
  • People management skills; good relationships with team members
  • Strong presentation skills; good written and verbal skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; attention to detail
