Experienced Mechanic

Brewer's and Sakstrup's Towing companies in Ann Arbor is looking for an Experienced Mechanic. We're looking for a reliable candidate that will be responsible for repairing and servicing our own fleet to ensure that the vehicles and equipment stay in safe working order. This candidate will also be responsible for working on customer vehicles and making sure the work is being done correctly and efficiently.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform diagnostics of drive train, electrical systems and wrecker equipment as necessary

Repair engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, paint and body panels

Perform, record and track annual DOT fleet inspections

Ensure essential parts are ordered or stocked as needed

Coordinate repairs with drivers schedules

Changing tires as needed

Perform routine maintenance (LOF) on fleet and customer vehicles

Diagnose and repair customer vehicles

Document Work Order estimates, complete Work Order bills in a timely manner

Assist with collecting payment as necessary

Maintain job hour log

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:

Possess and maintain State of Michigan Mechanics Licensing

- AUTO Front End & Steering

- AUTO Brakes & Braking Systems

- AUTO Electrical Systems

- AUTO Heating & Air Conditioning

- HDT Drive Train

- HDT Electrical systems

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl, lay on ground or creeper

Must be able to reach above head, work while on ladders

Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
