As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients needing home healthcare services. You will be responsible for receiving and responding to incoming calls from providers, referral sources, and potential patients by collecting and entering clinical and demographic information into a patient portal.

This remote, flexible opportunity pays independent contractors $12/hour.

You’ll be taking calls and making money from the comfort and safety of your own home.

Plus, you’ll enjoy flexible scheduling, where you use a self-scheduling platform to select when you work and when you don’t. You’ll have the freedom to schedule around your own needs, the needs of your family, and the important events in your life.

Hours of operation are 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM ET Monday through Friday. Weekend hours will be added over the next few months. You choose your own schedule within those hours of operation.

Essential Functions

- Answer incoming calls

- Review patient history as necessary

- Follow policy and procedure guidelines

- Answer questions as necessary

- Verify patient membership

- Collect and enter clinical and demographic information into the client’s patient portal

- Help set appointments

- Provide technical support as necessary

- Remain up to date on policy and procedure guidelines

- Participate in annual compliance training

About You

At least one year of customer service experience is required. Empathy and a passion for helping other people is also required. A medical background and familiarity with medical terminology will be a huge plus. In addition, successful Customer Service Representatives are:

- Able to work an average of at least 20 hours per week

- Able to detect other peoples’ emotions and understand their perspective

- Passionate about wanting to improve the quality and access to home healthcare

- Able to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information

- Passionate about providing exceptional service and willing to go above and beyond

- Strong listening and spoken communication skills

- Skilled writers, possessing a strong grasp of correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling

- Skilled at typing both quickly and accurately

- Able to strictly adhere to and stay up to date on policy and procedure guidelines

- Proficient at using a computer to perform basic to intermediate tasks including copying and pasting, data entry, browser usage, downloading software, etc.

- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, smoothly navigating across multiple applications, while simultaneously talking, listening, and collecting and entering patient information

- Organized and detail-oriented

- Flexible and able to adapt well to changes

- Motivated to continuously learn

- Able to apply feedback to improve systems and assist in developing a great customer experience

To be a Customer Service Representative, you will need the following, at a minimum:

- A smartphone (iPhone or Android) for dual-factor authentication

- Internet: High-speed, hard-wired internet (no WiFi or satellite internet service)

- Operating System: Windows 10

- Processor: Intel Core or Intel Pentium 4

- Memory: 2GB of RAM

- Browser: Internet Explorer 11 and latest version of Chrome or Firefox

- Monitor: Dual monitors, each capable of displaying at least 1024 x 768 pixels

- Sound: Sound card installed (standard on most PCs)

- Virus Protection: Up to date virus software installed

- Headset: USB noise-cancelling headset
