FLEET MAINTENANCE MANAGER, BIG SPRING TEXAS AREA

A 30+ year old privately held nationwide company specializing in fleet maintenance management has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager. This position will oversee daily operations of one of our locations in West Texas – the Big Spring area. This position will report to the Director of Operations and will have daily interaction with our dedicated customer. Proven experience and a track record of excellent customer and employee relations is a must. Solid technical and asset management experience with medium/heavy duty trucks and equipment is required. Duties include but are not limited to:

Hands on management of a team consisting of between 5 and 8.

Direct involvement with a dedicated customer in all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair including communicating repair status, cost estimates, overall shop operations and efficiencies.

Overseeing day to day shop operations, administrative process, parts and procurement and technician work quality and efficiency.

Regular communication with corporate staff including Operations, accounting, and Human Resources.

Overall management of contract SLA’s to insure maximum profitability.

Accountability for contract relationship management.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum Years of experience: 5 years

Educational requirements: High School graduate with some college preferred.

Emergency Vehicle fleet knowledge and experience with car, light truck, and fire engine mechanical and electrical systems preferred.

Strong experience in managing technician efficiency in relation to standard job times.

Proficiency in developing and managing Key Performance Indicators.

Experience in managing multiple technicians and shifts in a shop environment.

Fluent working knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Outlook and Excel

Discipline: a proven track record as a self-starter with adherence to company policies.

Strong customer orientation.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills relating to employees and customers.

Analytical and resolution skills at both a strategic and operational level.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Must have acceptable driving record and pass drug test and background check

VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE REQUIRED

CDL License is desirable

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

At least 3-5 years of experience in a service management or assistant service management role is required

Previous Ford, Chrysler, GM dealership experience strongly preferred

ASE Service Consultant (C1) certification preferred

Must have computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word & Excel)

Valid driver's license

Good organizational and people skills
