JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Are you looking for an exciting career in technology where you can put your customer service skills to use? The Department of Administration has an opportunity for you. This IT Services Specialist III position is located within the Division of Technology and will function under general supervision. A successful candidate will provide world class customer service and technical support to the Division of Technology Operations' (DTO) customers by providing Tier 1 incident management and request fulfillment related to the portfolio of enterprise services provided by the division. The candidate will also:
  • Provide incident management for DTO customers in order to resolve interruptions in service by troubleshooting hardware, software, application and network connectivity issues.
  • Diagnose customer problems, resolve incidents when possible, and escalate appropriately when necessary.
  • Provide request fulfillment for DTO customers in order to meet customer needs quickly and efficiently.
  • Document each Incident management and request fulfillment Interaction with all pertinent and relevant information using the appropriate tools.
  • Provide effective communication through various channels, including but not limited to, telephone, email, chat, other electronic communication, and in person.
  • Achieve productivity goals in order to meet DTO customer needs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain current technical and operational knowledge of services provided by DTO and the responsibilities and functions of all departmental groups using various knowledge bases and other available resources. Update and maintain procedural documentation for internal and external users.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Incumbent may be required to work evenings and/or weekends, on-call shifts, and call back. Position requires frequent stooping and/or bending, and frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Incumbent may be required to carry a State-issued mobile device and will be expected to respond, when on call, within one (1) hour from initial contact (exceptions may be requested, and temporary waivers granted from this requirement). Incumbent may be required to work during emergency or hazardous weather situations. MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications systems, or information processing operations. An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area may be substituted for the required work experience, or an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:It is preferred that the applicant have experience with computer room server operations.
