This position will be 50% billable to an Army National Guard contract and the remaining 50% will be spent as a member of the ActioNet Innovation Center devoted to growth activities. The role is responsible for cloud systems plans and strategy; design, development, and deployment of applications into a Cloud or Hybrid Cloud; and implementation of enterprise infrastructure and platforms required for cloud computing. Additional responsibilities include architecting and leading the development and integration of cloud-based information and computer systems that meet specific needs, as identified in the TO. You will be accountable for the end-to-end cloud deployment experience, from concept development to deployment. This position will provide Cloud Architect SME expertise across various corporate growth-related and thought leadership activities including proposal solutioning, white papers, speaking at conferences, and/or developing innovative strategies to serve as strategic differentiators in the marketplace Duties and Responsibilities:- Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption
- Maintain up to date documentation of designs/configurations
- Manage and aggregate server logs and monitor for security and system related incidents
- Monitor and analyze system performance, such as server load and resource usage
- Design and oversee the Cloud computing strategy
- Implement security policies and secure method access
- Experience leading a cross-functional cloud technology teams
- Experience utilizing Agile development methodologies and Application Lifecycle Management.
- Implement, maintain and secure roaming profiles to safeguard user accessibility and functionality
- Understanding of the NIST RMF Framework and familiarity with the DoD ATO/A&A process as they apply to DoD cloud environment
- Work closely with vendor technical consultants to resolve issues
- Deliver customized cloud and multi cloud virtualization from different vendors including the Gov clouds in AWS, Google Cloud Platform And Microsoft. Technologies include Azure, VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, and HP.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor s Degree with 11+ years experience of network support experience with installing, configuring, and supporting local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Internet systems, and components of network systems and at least three to five years experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position
- Knowledge and use of Cloud-based storage solutions and cloud data migration tools and techniques
- Understanding and can apply knowledge to Cloud connectivity with respect to DoD Cloud access points
- Best practice in scalability, availability, observability and sustainability of architected solutions
- Apply configuration management disciplines to maintain software revisions, security patches, hardening, and documentation
- Monitor performance of networks and systems, and to align network use and access, they work on master consoles
- Interact with users of the network to come up with a roadmap to fix the existing problems of the systems
- Show the impact to cloud infrastructure-operating costs, identify labor costs associated with a cloud instance, and explore cost benefit analysis compared to traditional data center deployments.
- Develop, implement and maintain the technical architecture blueprints for Cloud design.
- Monitor the performance of the network to decide whether modifications are necessary and to ascertain the places where they have to be carried out in the future
- Perform routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
- Configure, administer, and maintain antivirus software or email applications
- Understand the pros and cons of setting-up and running software in the cloud system
- Experience with Amazon Web Services is desirable
- Experience with IT architecture, software development, and operations is desirable
- Experience with containers, virtualization, and orchestration tools is desirable
- Architecting for continuous integration and deployment, and continuous monitoring
- Demonstrated experience with microservice-based architectures and designs
- An understanding of Git and the importance of version control systems
- Experience in building cloud-based Big Data oriented solutions
- Experience in ITIL processes - Build, Change, Release and Configuration Management
- Experience with and/or understanding of modern toolsets including, but not limited to: Jenkins, Ansible, Artifactory, GitLab, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker
- Must be DoD 8570 compliant 2 months of hire date
