Title: Healthcare Claims (837 & 835) Data Analyst / Triage specialist

Location: After Covid – 19 - Washington, DC - 3 days a week & 2 days a week remote. Until then, 100% remote until it is safe to work in an office environment.

Duration: 12 month Temp to Perm

Candidate MUST be able to be hired onto the client’s W2 after 12 months WITHOUT needing any type of sponsorship

Important Note: this is NOT a traditional testing role and be comfortable with doing this kind of triage/troubleshooting work.

It is NOT going to suddenly morph into a traditional manual testing position.

Responsibilities:
  • Triage, troubleshoot incidents / errors in 837 and 835 Healthcare claims EDI transactions.
  • Perform initial triage of reported incidents in Trouble Tickets (Service Now) with a focus on incident definition, isolation and resolution via data collection/and analysis and prior incident pattern analysis.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up on logged incidents with the applications.
  • Write and run SQL queries on Oracle database to analyze data, connect the pieces to figure out where the problem lies.
  • Person will be expected to resolve / debug over 50% of trouble ticket problems themselves. The rest, they will hand over to developer to fix but, will continue to track tickets through resolution.
  • Document incident resolutions, escalations, and closures within the Incident tracking tool (One Stop system… similar to Service Now)
  • Use good communication skills to communicate resolution to Person issuing the Trouble Ticket.
  • Make recommendations on changes to the tenant plans interfaces to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Create and run performance monitoring reports for end customers including SLA tracking reports.
  • Accountable for specific (on time) deliverables as defined by the team and internal leadership.
  • Collect and study data to reveal ways to improve a business, organization or government entity; or databases and the data entered into those databases. The data can involve almost any topic including claims, members, providers, customers, marketing, sales.
  • Involved problem-solving, mathematics and computer skills and studying data on various systems. Managing master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
  • Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.

Requirements:
  • Over 4 years of experience triaging, troubleshooting incidents / errors in 837 and 835 Healthcare claims EDI transactions.
  • In depth understanding of 837 and 835 segments and loops
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Oracle databases and optimizing output
  • Candidate must have excellent problem solving capabilities as well as a strong understanding of mathematical techniques for working with technical system data
  • Must be able to manage master data files, including creating updates and deletions as necessary.
  • Must be able to manage and design reporting environments, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
