In this position, you will support highly respected physicians and clinical staff in the delivery of health care by performing a broad range of administrative and patient-focused tasks to maintain a smooth and efficient office workflow.To learn more about the great work our Reproductive Medicine Center is doing, please visit this website - https://www.cedars-sinai.org/programs/gynecology/clinical-programs/fertility-reproductive.htmlWhat will you be doing in this role?The incumbent answers incoming telephone calls, scheduling and authorizations for appointments, surgeries and ancillary services, patient check-out duties and re-scheduling of follow-up appointments, insurance verification functions, chart/medical records preparation and sorting and distribution of mail and patient information. Giving patient cash pay quotes for cash services. Collecting payments. Advising patients regarding insurance-billable vs. cash services. Applies a detailed knowledge of the areas of assigned responsibility and a general knowledge of the ambulatory/outpatient physician setting and its interrelation with the larger Health System organization. Ensures the timely completion of work assignments in accord with established timelines.Education Requirements:High School Diploma/GED requiredCollege Diploma preferred.Experience and Skills we are looking for:Minimum 6 months' experience in a medical office setting/scheduling of patients/working with insurance companies and obtaining authorizations required.Previous work experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting or physician's office preferred.Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills for interacting with patients, payers, physicians and other CSHS customers.Must possess a minimum computer competency comprised of a working knowledge of Windors or comparable system (specifically including keyboarding and mouse skills).Must additionally possess a working knowledge of basic word processing.Email browser and online internet access.Knowledge and understanding of the organization, functions, policies and procedures of the outpatient physician, clinic and the relationship with the larger Cedars-Sinai Health System and the ability to apply the knowledge in the work of the office.Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short timelines, to prioritize and organize work and to complete assignments in a timely manner.Ability to interact effectively with Directors, Managers, internal staff, patients, physicians and representatives of outside agencies.Demonstrated ability to work well as a team player and independently.English language proficiency.
