Community Health Liaison (Peer Coordinator) - Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences (Victims of Crime Act) - Part TimeTexas Medical Center-Houston, TexasHotClinical ProfessionalsMcGovern Medical School at UTHealthRequisition #: 200002AVUTHealth Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is hiring a Community Health Liaison (Peer Coordinator) as part of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) project which provides psychotherapy treatments to First Responders, including Police, Firefighters and EMT personnel who are often exposed to trauma, violence and their consequences, and suffer subsequent negative emotional and mental health effects from such exposure.This position will provide support from both the office setting as well as out in the public setting. Typical hours are Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm . This is a PART TIME position working around 20 hours/weekPosition Summary:Interviews research subjects, primarily in the field, collects data and records data for various health studies.Position Key Accountabilities:Interviews and established rapport with study participants in order to encourage complete accurate responses and continuing participation in the study. Works in the field, either going to homes or places of business or at specific study areas.

Contacts study participants to schedule interviews in the research study.

Decides methods of tracking participants, how to conduct interviews, and whether callbacks are necessary to get further information while coding.

Researches newspaper files, hospital records, funeral homes, and all other available resources to obtain names, addresses, phone numbers and other information about study participants.

Conducts intervention with research subjects and refers to appropriate physician or healthcare practitioner as outlines in the study policies, procedures, and protocols.

Schedules tests and physicals as outlines in the study policies, procedures, and protocols.

Codes and edits information for research projects for entry into database.

Handles administrative details such as time and effort reports, and mileage reports.
