JD : DESCRIPTION Client is seeking a highly capable Operations Manager to lead operations teams and function as the primary interface with the customer on operational issues for key programs. To be successful in this role requires superior communication skills with technical, business, and leadership stakeholders. The Operations Manager will lead operations teams in support of production, pre-production, and deployment activities. This includes developing a culture focused on resiliency, managing business impact from operations issues and activities, and maintaining a sense of urgency and quality across resources urgency in the face of business impact, and leveraging best practices and frameworks to ensure consistency and accountability. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead evolution of operations team structure, processes, and culture to provide increased effectiveness, responsiveness, and accountability
  • Drive operation's team response and resolution to production issues (bridges, customer communications, SME engagement, DR/fail-over, RCA's and reporting, etc.)
  • Ensure operations teams are prepared for deployments and post-deployment support by working closely with dev teams, release managers, and customer.
  • Improve processes and metrics around change management, problem management, incident management
  • Evaluate knowledge DB, analytics/dashboards, and service catalog, to recommend enhancements
  • Survey operational tooling including backup/restore, disaster recovery, monitoring, and provisioning tools, and recommend add-ons, integrations, or replacements to streamline operations
  • Oversee development of playbooks, blueprints, and their automation for pre-production environment setup and testing
  • Collaborate with customer's IT operations management managers and domain leadership strategic direction, priorities, and progress
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of experience building sophisticated and automated operational management platforms in a Cloud or On-Premises environment, particularly building service integration capabilities between multiple platforms
  • Qualified in SRE, AgileOps, ITIL, TOGAF or similar ITSM frameworks, particularly focused on Service Operations or Service Transition
  • Highly technical and analytical, possessing significant IT implementation and operations experience
  • Deep hands-on experience working on the design, development and deployment of an enterprise supporting systems at a global scale
  • Operations professional experienced in operational support for applications, either on-premises or in the cloud
  • Desire to take on strategic leadership roles and developing infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code
  • Monitoring and logging tools including AppDynamics, Splunk, Grafana, dashboards, Jira, and Slack
  • Knowledgeable in key operational tools (such as Jira, ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk, Chef, Puppet etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with PCF, Oracle (e.g. OFSLL), AWS, microservices, restful APIs, Apigee, etc.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering background preferred; Masters degree desired
  • Strong hands-on Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills, in cloud and/or on-premises environment
  • Building and maintaining run-book style automation or orchestration platforms in global, distributed Enterprise IT environments
  • Previous experience assessing, optimizing, managing, automating enterprise IT service management processes
  • Administration of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) servers such as Jenkins, gitlab, Bitbucket
