High Performance CARPENTER

New Energy Works has an open position for a motivated high performance carpenter/framer in Farmington, NY. We are looking for an experienced, quality-oriented, and hardworking craftsman with house framing and general carpentry experience and an interest in building the best, high-performance high-craft homes possible. Our work spans from footings, to prefabricating walls in our shop, to occasional final finish with an emphasis on the energy performance of the home. While we are looking for a demonstrated level of skill and experience in a framing setting, the addition of an understanding of high-performance building envelopes, site and shop tools, CNC and/or CAD experience will all be valued but not required.

This job requires the ability to perform tasks in all areas and aspects of general framing. The aptitude to work with tools are essential along with the ability to lift and manipulate panels of up to 50 lbs and more. Some driving is to be expected and can result in longer commutes to occasional "local" projects, therefore a valid driver's license is required, and you can expect your time to be roughly split between a site and our shop.

New Energy Works has shops in both Farmington, NY and McMinnville, OR where we design and craft custom heavy timber projects using modern CNC and traditional tooling all the while raising these frames and HP enclosures around the country. This position is full year, full time plus with a great benefits package. The benefits include 70% company paid medical, paid holidays and vacation time, a 401k plan, profit-sharing as available, and we are also a 30% employee-owned company (ESOP) on our way to full employee ownership.
