Job Opportunity: Vent Cleaning Technician III (Full-Time)

Growing Fort Myers dryer vent cleaning company is looking for 3 leaders to join our crew. We are now hiring 3 full-time year-round technicians. Benefits include health care, 401k, and paid vacation.

Start date: Immediate Opening

Job pay starts at $14-18 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Top tier of pay is reserved for technicians who demonstrate leadership, high character, and a commitment to our mission of serving customers with integrity. Health care is also provided with 25% employee contribution. Candidate will need to participate in a qualifying hands-on interview to be considered for the position. There is a weight limit of 225 lbs due to our ladder safe working load limit. Additionally, all applicants need to be able to carry the ladders throughout the day. Applicant should not have any weight lifting restrictions.

FULL-TIME work week is about 40-45 hours per week. During summer months, technicians may enjoy a 4-day work week working about 10 hours per day. In winter, technicians will be called upon to work 5 days per week as needed.

WORKING HOURS vary but generally run between 7:am to 5:pm Monday through Friday. Candidate will not be required to work nights or weekends. However, Saturday and evening work and overtime is available for those who desire it.

JOB DESCRIPTION/REQUIREMENTS

- We are in the fire prevention business. Non-smokers only please.

- No experience necessary. Will train. Job is not heavy work but the pace of the work does require agility & stamina. Work is 50% outdoor, 50% indoors.

- Safely and responsibly operate a clean utility van and trailer to and from job sites each day. Workers often operate in pairs but are often tasked with working independently. Candidate will report to more senior technicians during training period but will report to senior management once training period is complete.

- Present yourself to customers as a highly professional, competent, and trustworthy technician at ALL TIMES.

- Carefully but quickly move several dryers each day in order to clean behind them. Operate large vacuum cleaners and other equipment for removing lint from customer dryer vents.

- Regularly carry and climb heavy ladders and safely walk on roofs.

- Quickly diagnose and repair vent blockage issues.

- Must be able to handle working outdoors in the Florida heat all year round.

QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES/EXPERIENCE:

- Must be mechanically inclined (You have a natural inclination to repair and/or install mechanical things).

- Must be able to give clear instruction, training, and direction to less senior technicians.

- Must have valid Florida driver's license and a clean driving record.

- Must have reliable mode of transportation.

- Ability to write, speak, and understand English very clearly.

- Ability to repeatedly lift and carry a 40 lb, 28 foot extension ladder (stored on the roof of a truck) to and from a job site every 30 min.

- Ability to occasionally lift and carry a 54 lb, 36 foot extension ladder (also stored on the roof of a truck).

- Ability to repeatedly climb ladders to roofs of 2 and 3 story buildings.

- Ability to tolerate occasional inhalation of lint dust. (Respiratory equipment provided but occasional inhalation is still a reality in this business.)

- Ability to safely operate a utility van with large utility trailer attached in forward and reverse.

- Ability to follow clear instruction and take direction from more senior technicians.

- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and problem-solve.

- Must have at least 3 references that can vouch for your character and skills.

- Ability to maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with coworkers and customers of diverse cultural or socio-economic backgrounds.

Beneficial but NOT required Qualifications/Experience:

- Bilingual in Spanish/English

- Experience in dryer vent cleaning and/or HVAC duct cleaning

- Experience in appliance repair, light carpentry, light plumbing

- Experience working on automobiles

- Experience in repairing and/or installation of residential Air Conditioning systems.

- Experience in teaching, training, or similar leadership roles

- An interest in developing on-rope skills

Conditions of Employment:

- Employment conditional on completion of Background Information Disclosure (BID) and the results acceptable to the company.
