Job Description

Summary/Objective

The Procurement and Inventory Manager is responsible for approximately $15 million of the company's annual spend. The Procurement and Inventory Manager will create standardized methods for locating and obtaining goods and services, ensure items and/or services obtained are of acceptable quality and fall within budget requirements, evaluate current vendor list to ensure the company is purchasing from the right vendors at the right price, and manage all company contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers. In addition, they may also develop or assist in developing company policies related to purchasing.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain strategic vendor relationships
  2. Seek out and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
  3. Develop effective sourcing strategies to ensure uninterrupted flow of supplies and services
  4. Assess and mitigate risks to purchasing strategy and supply chain
  5. Utilize Request for Quote (RFQ) process to obtain pricing from multiple potential vendors for capital projects
  6. Communicate price and supply issues to Board of Directors
  7. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear documentation requirements
  8. Monitor and forecast for seasonal supply needs and upcoming changes in levels of demand (corrugate, pallets, etc.)
  9. Prepare data for seasonal bids
  10. Approve purchase orders in the PIMS system
  11. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce costs and improve effectiveness

Qualifications

Competencies

  • Self-motivated and fast paced; likes variety and tolerates interruptions in their work
  • Financial acumen; understands the accounting cycle and supporting activities
  • Detailed oriented, is concerned with accuracy and precision in their work
  • Extensive project management knowledge, supplier negotiation, spend analysis, and cost/benefit analysis experience
  • Effective oral communication and excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent negotiating, organization, team management and collaboration skills. Able to lead, motivate, and influence a team toward common goals
  • Able to manage multiple projects on a concurrent basis
  • Able to delegate work, lead and mentor team members
  • Proficient in the use of standard software packages, including spreadsheets, modeling, and databases

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Business or Supply Chain Management

2. 3+ years of procurement, purchasing or supplier management experience

  • 1 years’ experience at the manager level preferred
  • Prior experience in manufacturing or agricultural in a purchasing or supply chain role

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid WA State Driver License
  • Current motor vehicle insurance and access to a reliable vehicle

Additional Information

This is a full-time, salaried, benefits-eligible position. This position is not eligible for employment-based immigration. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
