As such, he/she has 24-hour responsibilityand accountability for all patient care activities, unit operation, and stafffunction.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Uses independentjudgment to exercise authority on behalf of the Medical Center,or effectively recommend such action in the following areas:
May request,recruit, interview, make hiring decisions, and perform retention activities in regard to personnel for thisarea;
May disciplinesubordinates according to MedicalCenter procedure;
Responsible forassigning work to employees and directing the workflow in area ofjurisdiction;
Attempts toresolve employee complaints/concerns;
Conducts periodicperformance appraisal interviews with subordinates;
Recommendsemployee advancements/wage increases to Director.

and educational opportunities that promote attainment of organizational goalsare facilitated.Feedback,suggestions, and recommendations related to the achievement of organizationalobjectives are provided.

QualificationsQualifications:Required:Bachelor’s degreein nursing. (Associates Degree/Diplomain nursing maybe considered
provided Bachelor’s degree in nursing is successfullycompleted within thirty-six (36) months of hire/transferMust possesscurrent Michigan RN license
Three (3) yearsclinical experience
CPR issued by American Health Association or Red Cross Certification
Master’s degreein Nursing or health related field
Professional Certification in applicable area within five (5) years of hire/transfer
