The Cloud Operations team at Plex is constantly focused on providing value to our customers and increasing efficiency in how we accomplish this. As our Lead Public Cloud Architect, you will identify and implement improvements to how we run and operate our customers offerings in the public cloud. This will include a focus on security, connectivity, reporting, monitoring, and governance, as well as working collaboratively with other teams to make recommendations on application and infrastructure design and configuration.WHAT’S YOUR IMPACT?

  • Play a leading role in defining our hybrid cloud strategy.
  • Drive a transition of key products to the public cloud.
  • Architect best in class public cloud operational tools and processes.
  • Primary oversight of our public cloud environment, including support, training, and project work.
  • Identify and develop improvements to our controls, processes, and configuration.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies related to public cloud management.
  • Engage in department and cross departmental business process optimization.
  • Perform project and ad-hoc development work in support of department initiatives.
  • Work effectively in a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment.
IS IT IN YOU?
  • 5+ years public cloud engineering experience.
  • 10+ years technology experience leading technical projects and/or teams.
  • Experience of transitioning products to the public cloud.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining public cloud applications and infrastructure leveraging PaaS and/or IaaS.
  • Strong security background, including knowledge of security best practices in the public cloud and experience implementing strong security processes and controls.
  • Strong networking background, including knowledge of public-private cloud connectivity management and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud storage methodologies, including experience maintaining high performance levels, cost management strategies, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Proven history building automated solutions that enable reliability and scalability of applications.
  • Experience using and managing a variety of open source technologies and cloud services, ideally including the following:
    • Public Cloud experience: Azure or AWS Solutions Architecture certification, understanding of Cloud Adoption Frameworks
    • Kubernetes supporting enterprise needs: Kubernetes platforms, Docker, Prisma Cloud
    • Infrastructure/Configuration as code: Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible
  • Experience in design, implementation, and servicing of technology platforms.
  • Experiencing leading a group of technical engineers to deliver strong results.
  • Strong design skills. Ability to resolve ambiguity and create well designed, sustainable solutions.
  • Additional preferred experience:
    • Experience with Hybrid cloud implementation strategies
    • Experience managing vendor relationships
    • Experience managing an engineering team
    • Experience with continuous integration technologies
    • Experience with ServiceNow Service Catalog
