DW/BI Business Systems Analyst

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify value proposition gaps of current and proposed solutions

• Facilitates meetings with technical and non-technical staff to clarify business requirements and document technical specifications for the data warehouse development team

• Assess improvement opportunities which align with business strategy
• Diagnose primary and alternates solutions for stakeholder evaluation

• Leads requirements gathering process with business partners to understand their data needs and translate those needs into technical specifications

• Conducts data profiling and other analyses to determine the efficacy of available data sources.
• Communicates technical specifications to the data warehouse developers through creation of source to target mappings.
• Lead documentation of Non-functional requirements
• Guides data warehouse team members on investigation of bugs and data quality issues
• Participates in testing and QA processes to ensure business requirements are met

• Establish standards for technical specifications and supporting project documentation

• Participate in the development of user stories and validation criteria for enhancements
• Formulate artifacts, including but not limited to, business needs assessments, process flows, data flow diagrams and information system configurations
• Comfortable with communicating with executive leadership and extract problem statement
• Communicate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and document technical specifications for developers to execute.
• Validate reports and provide insights/suggestions to business stakeholders around key KPI's.
• Able to perform Vendor/tool evaluation to fit the RFE
• Stay abreast of new and future business needs and track and report impact of changes to interdependent systems
• Use reporting tools to perform ad hoc data analyses as needed to support business cases
• Work with the QA Lead to develop the testing protocols and documents
• Acquire business approval for all requirements
• Participate in user acceptance testing and functional testing
• Classify risks, issues and escalate when require

• 7-10 years analyzing business issues within organizations of at least 1,000 users
• Experiences with software product delivery using Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with product and project management tools such as Team Foundation Server, JIRA or MS Project, Azure Devops.
• Exceptional ability to communicate in a written, spoken or visual manner at all personnel levels
• Bachelor's degree in MIS or Business Administration
• Technical understanding of how a process is executed through applications and data flow
• Strong Sql skills
• Understanding of data modelling/dimensions concepts.
• Experience in standing up Data warehouses and data marts.
• Expert at documenting functional and data requirements into executable technical specifications
• Technical understanding of how a process is executed through applications and analyze data flow
• Manage business expectations and deliver customer-focused solutions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Possess math skills to perform required duties
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

• Experience in handling data for ERP systems.
• Experience with Cloud based applications a plus
• Experience in Pricing and CPQ systems
• Experience with Microsoft D365
