DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to provide support to the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Ground Vehicle Systems Center (CCDC GVSC), located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren, Michigan .NOTE: This position is temporarily work from home / remote / virtual work as part of a virtual team due to COVID-19. Will likely return to the office after COVID-19 threat has passed.JOB DESCRIPTION:SAIC is seeking a Project Systems Engineering Lead (PSEL) toprovide support to the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command GroundVehicle Systems Center (CCDC GVSC), located at the Detroit Arsenal in Warren,Michigan.
The candidate will use theirexperience in a broad range of Systems Engineering principles to lead the executionand delivery of systems engineering work products as part of a program team.
The Project Systems Engineering Lead will be experienced inapplying systems engineering processes, methods and tools over an entireproject/product lifecycle of hardware and software programs.
Specific areas of responsibility include: stakeholderand mission needs development, concept of operations formulation, requirementsdefinition, alternative analysis, system architect development, system designand analysis, interface and data architecture definition, system integration,system and operational performance analysis, validation and verificationplanning, lifecycle cost analysis and estimation, decision analysis and resolution,risk management and providing systems engineering leadership in program andtechnical reviews.
The successful candidate will have excellentinterpersonal and communication skills, an ability to lead systems engineeringefforts on complex projects/products, and the ability to successfully executeseveral program efforts simultaneously.
QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technicaldegree with at least 9 years of professional experience as a Systems Engineer;OR Masters and 7 years of experience as a Systems Engineer; PhD or JD and 4years as a Systems Engineer
Experience leading Systems Engineering aspects of aproject/product team
Develop and mature system requirements and interface controldocuments in DOORS or other requirements management tool
Conduct trade studies and comparative performanceassessments of system, subsystem and component alternatives to inform overallsystem decisions/recommendations
Work with subject matter experts, stakeholders, andcustomers throughout the process to develop and demonstrate integrated systemdesign in accordance with requirements
Lead systems engineering aspects of technical reviewsincluding SFR, SRR, PDR, CDR and TRR
Develop requirement verification matrices for system,subsystem and component designs
Develop and implement metrics to measure product quality anddevelopment performance
At least 4 years’ experience in system design, development,integration and verification testing of Military ground vehicles
Must be a US citizen that has or is able to obtain a SecretLevel Security Clearance
DESIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS:Master of Science in Engineering or related technical degree
Experience in applying Systems Engineering processes andModel Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools to complex project/productsolutions
Experience in DoDAF, SysML and UML modeling, simulation, andanalysis
Strong technical background in vehicle and robotic mechanicsand dynamics
