Who we are: The Challenge Program is a non-profit construction training program serving “at-risk” youth ages 18 – 24. Since 1995, our main function is to provide select Delaware youth with full-time, paid training and experience in proper construction techniques and skills.
In addition to being a highly successful job training program, Challenge Program is also a well-established construction company. We bid and execute construction and woodworking projects, which provide work for our trainee crews and allow us to generate revenue for our program. We have 3 crews of trainees working on site, 12 months a year.
Notable projects include: The Discovery Center in Philadelphia, Grain Craft Bar+Kitchen, Awbury Arboretum, Wilmington Brew Works, dozens of green roof projects and urban gardens, and over 20 house rehabs.
Here's a 3 minute video of the project one of our crews just completed:https://app.frame.io/reviews/c16c3db0-9fab-4cf7-be59-104fa9a89e60/b3008272-b9b8-4d88-92ff-7fb09537a08b
