We offer competitive compensation and phenomenal benefits.Summary of Position:Responsible for directing operations, maintenance, receiving and shipping activities during assigned shift.Essential Duties:1. Following instructions from the Plant Manager, provides the direction to the operations and maintenance personnel on the assigned shift.2. Monitors entire Computer System for Pellet Mill, making adjustments as needed.3. Constantly monitors and controls pellet quality.4. Maintains accurate production tracking and reporting logs and ensures that crew members are maintaining and submitting their assigned logs.5. Serves as a hand-on foreman completing assigned maintenance tasks when the plant is shut down for maintenance.6. Provides oversight and training of crew members ensure efficient operation of the mill.7. Maintains a safe, clean, orderly accident-free work environment.8. Adheres to company safety policies and OSHA standards and maintains safety awareness and compliance among crew members via frequent formal and informal safety discussions and training refreshers.9. Problem solves using various methodologies such as the 8 Disciplines Model, 5 Why Model, Fishbone Diagram amongst others.Other Duties: Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.Supervision Received:Reports to the Plant ManagerSupervision Exercised:Functions as shift leader, providing safety and production related direction and assistance to other shift members.Confidentiality:Maintains confidentiality of proprietary informationConduct:Represents MRE, LLC in a professional and courteous manner at all times.Dependability: Regularly attends and is punctual for work.Physical Demands and Environment: Must be able to sit for extended periods.Must be able to lift and carry 50 pound loads.Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.Must be able to work for long periods under a wide range of ambient conditions.Must be able to work flexible hours.Ability to work in a fast paced work environmentKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Well-developed supervisory skills, able to motivate subordinates using positive reinforcement and mentoring methods.Knowledge of pellet mill operating systems.Ability to work in a fast paced work environment.Ability to cross-train throughout the facility.Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail.Show a commitment to teamwork, being results oriented.Strong interpersonal communication skills and effective organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to interact with co-workers, contractors, and suppliers on a professional level.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Education, Experience and Training: High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years’ experience operating computer systems in a manufacturing setting.Experience with Dupont "Stop" or Behavior Based Safety, Job Safety Analysis or Job Hazard Analysis (preferred).Green belt, yellow belt or white belt certification (preferred).ISO/QS, Six sigma, lean, 5S, Kaizan, SPC, or quality audit experience (preferred).SMED, TPM, CMMS experience, preventative maintenance, apprenticeships, specific training, or predictive maintenance/tool usage (infrared, oil analysis, and vibration analysis) (preferred).We look forward to receiving your application!Incumbent must be able to perform “essential duties” of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. “Other duties” may be reassigned as necessary.Come join our team today!
