The CAD Drafter/Designer position is a critical role within the Surgical RD&E team. This position requires the ability to translate product designs and equipment into CAD drawings. He or she will be the lead drafter to support a major Capital project for 6+ months. In this role the drafter will be required to review current products and equipment and translate them into CAD drawings; reverse engineer products that do not have drawings and to work with cross-functional teams to implement the products.This individual will be required to interact closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality and other RD&E team members. They will be required manage multiple product/equipment drawings while maintaining compliance to drawing, regulatory and quality systems.Develop drawings using AutoCAD and Solidworks from rough or detailed sketches or specifications such as equipment and product drawings.

Generating 3D model parts, assemblies, and drawings. Understanding of configurations in the Solidworks environment.

Coordinate drafting requirements with project leads and managers to meet scheduling requirements.

Check project deliverables for consistency and conformity

Maintain knowledge of internal and customer standards

Interface with corporate scientific teams, existing manufacturing sites, existing vendors that affect the in-scope products

Function within all quality systems and regulations for medical devices

Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Solidworks 2015+ and Autocad 2013+.

This team uses Solidworks 2019 and Autocad 2020, so newer versions will be a plus.

Highschool Diploma, GED or equivalent

Understanding of ASEM Y14.5 and GD&T standards

Understanding of EPDM database workflows

Ability to work independently

Experience working in cross-functional teams as technical specialist

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, organizational skills, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:Medical Device Experience

Proven ability to independently manage and execute objectives

Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
