Statistician - School of Public Health - Human Genetics CenterTexas Medical Center-Houston, TexasHotResearchUTHealth School of Public HealthRequisition #: 200002ETDepartment: School of Public HealthLocation: Texas Medical CenterPosition Type: Full Time/ ExemptPosition Summary:Responsible for the application of standard statistical methods for conducting analysis and preparing reports.The purpose of this position is to support all aspects of design, analysis, and result interpretation for multiple genetic and epidemiologic studies in humans. This individual will be responsible for study design, data management, and implementing quality control measures. They will conduct interim analyses as well as develop final analysis plans, implement the actual data analysis, and provide results files and reports that detail the statistical interpretation of study findingsPosition Key Accountabilities:Conducts statistical analyses and reports. Utilize specialized computer/statistical software to address statistical and mathematical questions/issues (i.e. re-sampling, optimization) related to genetic and epidemiologic research projects.

Supervises the routing tabulation of data; edits and analyzes the final material in the form of reports and records, including detail and summary tables, graphs, and charts.Manage genotypic and phenotypic data for database storage and analysis (i.e. retrieve, clean, and/or reformat data)

Performs statistical analyses from both large and small samples of data.

Calculates medians quantities, percentiles and coefficients of correlation.

Tests data for sampling errors and for significance differences between samples.

Consults/collaborates with students, post-graduate fellows and faculty to enable

them in statistical and genetic analysisPerforms other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:Ability to program in RMinimum Education:Bachelor’s degree in related field.
