At United Wholesale Mortgage we are looking for the best people. In this position, the candidate will play a key role in engineering the infrastructure for our responsive and capable Information Security team. We have experienced explosive growth as a leader in the Financial Services industry, and we are looking for an established Information Security professional to design and build a critical segment of our Information Security team.The Security Engineer will report directly to and support the Information Security Team Lead, as well as the Chief Information Security Officer, to provide the highest quality information assurance program to our business teams and customers. The Security Engineer will develop and implement security processes and solutions, including the ongoing assessment and compliance to required security guidelines across the enterprise computing environment.We are looking for someone with a strong background in information security and a proven ability to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Configure network and computing systems that enforce security policies and audit controls in an advanced technology environment
  • Support the priorities planned and organized by Security Architecture in accordance with the roadmap for security architecture, including cloud-based initiatives
  • Lead the design, construction, and implementation phases of complex systems and projects
  • Support Risk Assessments, Penetration Tests, Vulnerability Assessments, Incident Response and Investigation, and Cybercrime Response
  • Research emerging technologies in support of security enhancements and application development efforts
  • Directly support a range of security technology platforms, including, but not limited to, web application security, security information and event management, endpoint security, vulnerability management, container security, data loss prevention, and others
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Required:
  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Security and Engineering roles of increasing responsibility, resulting in strong familiarity with engineering concepts and application security
  • Extensive experience with standard security tools and platforms, including web application security, endpoint security and encryption, vulnerability management, container security, and data loss prevention, among others
  • Strong ability to understand security concepts and effectively communicate with an Information Security team, IT Operations team, and Application Development team, including all domains of information security
  • Excellent written communication skills, along with outstanding analytic, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Proven project management and organizational skills, including managing multiple concurrent projects, particularly within the boundaries of compliance and regulatory program requirements

Preferred:
  • Four year degree in a relevant field preferred or an equivalent amount of post-secondary education and experience
  • CEH, CSSLP, CHFI, CCSP, GCIH, GCIA, F5-CTS, F5-CSE, Security+, or other pertinent industry-recognized certifications
  • Experience implementing Security infrastructure, tools, and solutions, including cloud-based
  • Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry
