NexGen Data Systems is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with expertise in engineering and administering complex worldwide WAN and LAN environments supporting networks running a variety of different routing and encryption protocols (BGP, OSPF, LISP, GetVPN, IPSec). The ideal candidate will have experience with Firewall and Route & Switch areas of Network Administration . The candidate will join a team of Network Engineers and Architects and work in a collaborative multi-functional team environment. Network certifications such as CCNP (Routing and Switching or Security), CCNA, or other equivalent certifications are desired, but not required.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Research and design complex network solutions to provide creative network solutions.
- Provide Tier 2 support in the troubleshooting of complex network and routing issues and, if needed, perform analysis to identify root cause of any performance issues and take appropriate corrective action to resolve issues.
- Perform security hardening and work with IA/A&A teams to conduct security scans/audits.
- Work with deployment and sustainment
- Bachelors Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics and two (2) years direct experience in the field; or a minimum of 4 years direct experience in the field
- 4+ years of experience working with WAN technologies is required
- 3+ years of experience with LAN technologies is required
- 2+ years of experience with encryption transport protocols such as IPSec, GetVPN, or DMVPN
- 3+ years of experience in the documentation and diagramming of complex network environments is required
- 2+ years of experience in the evaluation network equipment against a set of requirements
- Experience in the DoD STIG security requirements is desired
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-functional team environment (team player) is a must
- A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority
- Eagerness to learn with a quality, detailed-focus is essential
- Ability to collaborate with awareness and responsiveness to customer needs
- Commitment to continuous development and improvement
- Must meet the requirements to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret w/SCI or Top Secret clearance
- Ability to attain and maintain a United States Department of Defense security clearance
- 8570.01 compliance (IAT level II) is required and must be obtained prior to start date or within 60 days (Minimum Security+ and network certification)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills
- Travel as required
