Position Description:Fairstead is seeking a Compliance Trainer to ensure that organization complies with regulations or laws that apply to our company. Compliance is critical in affordable housing real estate industries and a lack of training puts companies at risk of noncompliance, subsequent fines, or legal action. Under general supervision, the Compliance Trainer is responsible for providing, coordinating, scheduling regular training activities around compliance. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and revising training documents that evaluate standard operating procedures and support overall training procedures. Responsibilities: Plan and create programs that will develop awareness and understanding of compliance issues

Conduct group or individual training sessions through interactive presentations

Stay current and aware of upcoming changes in legislation to plan programs and update staff on the latest requirements.

Explain regulations and compliance polices to staff as needed. Communicate the risks and consequences of noncompliance

Develop measures of feedback to ensure that employees understand training content and can put the teachings into practice

Develop documents that employees can reference after attending compliance trainings

Maintain comprehensive records of trainings for individuals and departments; regularly provide these reports to the Director of Compliance, Compliance Manager, and other internal stakeholders.

Maintain track of and submit training records to audit and demonstrate compliance.

Utilize training records to plan future programs that reflect changes in legislation or non-compliance.

Maintain an understanding for Fairstead’s general compliance requirements, employee roles, and department responsibilities.

Coordinate internally to understand operational changes and organizational shifts.

Update compliance requirements and train employees accordingly to fit operational changes and organization shifts.

Perform other duties and projects as needed.

RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have:Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience required

At least 3+ years of experience in of affordable housing compliance experience (e.g., Section 8/202/811/LIHTC/Bond/multilayered programs)

Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team of professionals;

Ability to review, interpret, and apply government regulations;

Ability to multi-task and complete multiple projects with different deadlines

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

TaCCs, COS, BOS, AHM or other widely-known affordable housing compliance certifications preferred;

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced excel functions)

Phone, Skype, and online meeting platform skills; ability to learn new softwares quickly.

Willing to travel
