Bobtail Driver - Winters

Tree Town USA is a leader within the horticulture industry with a true coast-to-coast footprint consisting of over 6,000 acres in production encompassing 15 farm locations throughout Texas, Florida, California, and Oregon. We are seeking a Bobtail Driver to join our team at our Winters location in Winters, California.

SUMMARY

Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive truck to delivery destination for final delivery, or drive to a yard location for drop off and pick up of transfer, or drive to another destination for material delivery or pick up (trade).

All deliveries and driving will be considered local with all trips to and from loading dock in one day.

Handles all delivery paperwork and assures proper customer signature and delivery information is obtained.

Prepares RGA paperwork for any materials not accepted at time of delivery.

Collects payment for COD deliveries.

Maintains driver and truck log, according to state and federal regulations.

Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.

Unloads truck at delivery point.

Assists in loading materials for trade pick ups or returned goods.

Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.

Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.

Positions blocks and tarps and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.

Act as a representative of the company at all times and work to provide exemplary customer service at all times.

Has knowledge of the PTO mechanism.

Performs all duties according to company rules, policies and procedures and pays particular attention to safety and governmental regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum of one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Must hold and maintain a valid Class B driver license and no more than 2 points on your current motor vehicle record.

Subject to all DOT rules and regulations including random drug tests.

Must not have any violations for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Must have at least 1 to 3 years driving experience with a good record.

Must be able to communicate in English

Must be able to read a map

Must be able to write in English or Spanish
