  • Demonstrate expertise in the use of EDA design and simulation software suites such as Synopsis, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, and Ansys.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Bash shell scripting and Perl script for customization of EDA tools (Synopsys, Cadence)
  • Gain a deep knowledge of stakeholders' design and simulation workflows and computing needs to help optimize and accelerate their workflows.
  • Serve as the EDA subject matter expert (SME) in the development of onpremise and cloud-based HPC infrastructure solutions.
  • Work independently to analyze technical needs, requirements, the customer's current infrastructure, operations, and workflows.
  • Help stakeholders identify and leverage onpremise and cloud HPC computing resources.
  • Assist new teams get upto-speed with Applied best practices in procurement, computing, IP protection and security.
  • Help stakeholders identify and adopt best practices for simulation data management.
  • Lead continuous enhancement and exploratory work to design, develop, test and deploy new software and hardware solutions.
  • Identify potential and emerging technologies relevant to innovation for Applied Materials.
  • Understand stakeholder technical and business problem statement in detail to identify strategic alignment and optimize recourse allocation across company.
  • Lead overall architectural design area of a project and solutions to address the stakeholders' business requirements.
Key Qualifications:
  • B.S. in engineering, computer science, math, physics or equivalent, M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Expertise in EDA workflows for chip design such as functional verification, physical design, physical verification, static timing analysis etc.
  • Know best practices and have handson experience with Cadence (Allegro, Virtuoso, Sigrity, etc.), Synopsys (Sentaurus, TCAD, VCS, etc.), ANSYS (HFSS, Icepack, SIwave, etc.), Mentor Graphics, and Xilinx products.
  • General knowledge in highperformance computing (HPC) using at least one HPC simulation software (such as packages from ANSYS, Cadence, Synopsys, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects which are complex in nature and coordinate colleagues across diverse teams and locations.
