Job Summary: This position will work within the Enterprise Applications and Data Management team to support many of the University's core business areas as a direct resource and subject matter expert in various enterprise technology solutions. In collaboration with our Information Technology Services department and end users, the Application Administrator II will help maintain business processes by identifying current issues and/or implementing corrective measures to resolve them. The position includes responsibilities for systems integration, migration, testing, and maintaining data integrity for both on-premise and SaaS applications. Along with utilizing a variety of programming and scripting languages, the Application Administrator II will support, troubleshoot, and enhance a diverse array of both homegrown and third-party applications, middleware, and database solutions.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working within fully integrated systems, which may include applications, databases, and application program interfaces.
  • Experience administering an enterprise-wide application.
  • Experience with Higher Education enterprise systems such as Ellucian ERP and auxiliary systems, LMS, CMS, CRM, Email & Collaboration, Payment and Access Control systems (1-3 years).

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting an enterprise-wide student information system.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining application integration and data flow management.
  • An understanding of admissions and/or enrollment related business processes (e.g., recruiting, application review, decisions).
  • Ability to manage complex tasks with minimal supervision in team situation and communicate effectively with broad range of individuals.
  • Understanding of one or more than one of the following development or scripting languages: PHP, Java, HTML, Javascript, JQuery, PL/SQL, BASH Scripting, PowerShell.

Other Qualifications:
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position.
  • Report to work obligations to support the department and may require work during HPU's winter break, if necessary.
  • Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy.
  • Able to work all shifts and extended hours.
  • Upon hire, candidate must have reliable transportation to all HPU worksites and other locations as required by the position.
  • Successful candidate will be able to work in an environment that utilize excellent time and stress management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tech Support and Consultation to assigned functional area SIS, FIS or HRIS

(60%)
  • Participate and manage software development for systems integration projects, data analytics and extraction, data cleanup, and software solutions related to business process changes.
  • Analyze system, user, and project requirements; design, develop, test, and implement related solutions.
  • Routinely monitor for application issues. Investigate, identify, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Develop and maintain written documentation for all designated area-related application processes and ensure that information about new software releases is communicated to end users.
  • Create and run queries and audit data in the designated Banner module on a regular basis. Evaluate departmental needs and research solutions
  • Provide daily technical support, user support, and training on designated ERP module and related software; participate in Banner project team(s) or task forces as required; monitor and communicate process or system changes to impacted parties and process owners.
  • Assist the designated department with system revisions and integration; testing designated department systems and processes during upgrades and enhancements. Create and define test plans and validation points. Provide information and training to the designated department staff on system design/utilization/upgrades; assist with general problem solving and inquiries.
  • Manage designated department related tools, including Banner, customer relationship management systems, electronic workflows, operational data stores, report writers, etc. Such management includes data maintenance, system configuration, data imports and exports, report creation, form creation, workflow development, communications management, user account administration, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with users to identify business requirements; develop and implement ways to use various systems to meet such requirements, performing gap analysis and interfacing with vendors on enhancements to address gaps.
  • Provide trend analysis on the helpdesk systems to identify problem areas and recommend solutions to increase productivity and to improve efficiencies.

    Software/Data Administration (30%)
  • Understand data access and integration needs of the various enterprise systems such as LMS, CRM, in-house custom apps, etc. used by students, faculty, and staff.
  • Coordinate with Security, Facilities, and Student Life to add and maintain door access control, meal plan integration with Banner.
  • Implement new features on CRM using Salesforce + TargetX, and maintain the integration between Salesforce and Banner.
  • Actively participate in application development to provide expertise in building well-designed and implemented processes.
  • Recommend new technologies and strategies that will improve work processes, advance the goals of the University, and convert legacy applications as needed.
  • Be responsible for managing a wide variety of applications and middleware related to designated department functions.
  • Manage data flow and data integrity according to HPU standards.
  • 3. Performs other related duties as assigned (10%)
  • Work with other University teams to coordinate projects through project review meetings, status updates, reports on problems and resolutions, and recommendations concerning assigned activities in order to enhance the effectiveness of student intake.
  • Attend technical training courses to enhance knowledge of programming and computer skills and techniques across platforms.
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative duties, including maintaining technical documentation, and providing expertise and assistance to other staff.
  • Actively participates as an effective member of team by completing assigned duties, accepting additional assignments or reassignments.
