Responsibilities • Participate in all stages of the established software development life cycle (requirements gathering, designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining products) with emphasis on the manual verification and validation procedures. Execute automated tests, when applicable.• Analyze software requirements for completeness, accuracy and ambiguity; Work with business analyst, SME, and project managers to clarify and correct issues with the requirements and assist in establishing correct software requirements specifications• Participate in development of a project test plan with detailed understanding of the testing workflow, including test strategy, environment requirements, test schedule, functions to be and not to be tested, resources and responsibilities, deliverables, entrance and exit criteria, testing tools, etc.• Make sure that the test objectives match system functional and non-functional requirements• Based on the system requirements, develop detailed test cases/ test scripts describing user’s input actions and the expected system’s response.• Provide inputs on high-level test scenarios, challenges, risks, resources, test estimates, etc., during the test planning meetings.• Ensure that functional and non-functional requirements are met through the system testing, exploratory testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing, system interface testing, security testing and acceptance testing activities• Ensure that all the test scripts are logged in the established test management tool and linked to the covered system requirements• Prepare test data to support manual or automated testing, when applicable• Execute test scripts, both manual and automated, if applicable, against the system(s) under test. Compare actual testing results with the expected results outlined in the test cases and log discrepancies (defects) if the results don’t match.• Ensure that uncovered defects and other testing issues are logged in the established defects management and tracking tool and communicated to the responsible parties and to project team via daily status reports• Once the development team reports that the defects are resolved, verify the fixes, conduct regression test and dispose the defects, if the test results are positive. If the issues reoccur, notify responsible parties. Update defects status in the defects management system.• Collaborate with project team members (Business Users, Project and Product Managers, QA Analysts, Software Developers, Network Engineers, DBAs and others)• Participate in software change and configuration management processes and understand software components and their interface requirements• Perform presentations to business users and participate in the UAT activities• Make recommendations to improve quality of products, processes and services.• Perform other duties and activities as specified by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Experience, Skills and Abilities• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related area of study, or demonstrated equivalent work experience is required• Minimum 5 years of working experience in quality assurance/testing field• Minimum 5 years of working experience in designing, developing and executing tests for the Oracle C2M or CC&B systems.• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience with the requirements and test management tools (i.e. Quality Center/ALM)• Experience with executing automated test scripts via automated test tools (i.e. Unified Functional Testing (Quick Test Professional), Performance Center (Load Runner), etc.) is a plus• Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming languages (C, C#, Java, etc.) or Scripting Languages (VBScript, PowerShell, etc.) is a plus• Minimum 5 years of working experience with testing of desktop applications, web applications, web services (APIs), and mobile technologies• Experience in writing SQL queries and querying database(s) (Oracle, SQL)• Experience in working with Unix, command prompt, telnet is a plus• Experience in working with the “NavigateOne” is a plus• Experience in working with the Utility Industries / Operations is a plus• Ability to analyze test results and perform initial root cause analysis of failures• Possession of strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Ability to exercise mature judgment and structured decision-making• Possession of excellent organizational and time management skills• Results-oriented, self-directed, and inquisitive• Strong attention to details coupled with a desire to deliver accurately, efficiently, and to a high standard• A reliable and proactive approach to entrusted tasks• Ability to work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple tasks, assignments and/or responsibilities• Highly motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high energy, and demanding team-oriented environment
