Metron’s ORCA division is seeking an on-site operations research Analyst at Commander, Pacific Fleet (Honolulu, HI) to conduct technical modeling analyses using the Naval Simulation System (NSS) and other tools. This work is in direct support of the COMPACFLT operational, planning and assessment staff. under the direction and guidance of an on-site senior Metron analyst. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Employment of operations research and modeling and simulation (M&S) techniques to develop and assess complex naval scenarios and operational plans
Conduct analytical NSS scenario preparation and study assignments to assess and improve joint or naval operational or exercise plans, evaluate the utility of warfare systems and tactics and/or to establish naval warfare requirements. Studies involve multiple warfare areas with emphasis on undersea warfare including MIW/MCM, C4ISR and Counter C4ISR, and maritime interdiction.
Modeling of complex communications architectures
Algorithm development, collaborative design, software testing, demonstration, and documentation
Briefing senior leadership (SES/Flag level) and interfacing directly with COMPACFLT staff
BS or MS in in the physical sciences, operations research, mathematics, or related fields
5+ years of defense programs experience in the areas of antisubmarine warfare, air warfare, surface warfare, and/or electronic/cyber warfare
Prior military experience or proven track record in military operations analyses preferred
Experience with the Naval Simulation System (NSS) or other complex M&S tools
Ability to communicate technical details effectively, both verbally and in writing, to end users, team members, managers, and clients
Current DoD security clearance with requirement for SSBI and SCI eligibility
