FRENCH LANGUAGE TEACHER

The International School of Tucson is looking for a French language immersion teacher for grades 1 through 8. We pride ourselves on being innovative offering our students small class sizes, a friendly and fun environment and involvement with all the cultural and global activities which form the premise of our school. In the Primary years we do little homework believing that social interaction, play and family time are more important. Contact hours are 24 per week and at least one planning hour per day mean you have plenty of time to produce great lessons.

The role

We are seeking a native French language teacher who is innovative, enthusiastic and lively to teach Elementary to Middle school students in immersive language classes. You should be able to teach differing grades and in differentiated classrooms with an enjoyment for teaching. Many of our students are expected to reach B1 standard (AP Intermediate high) on the European Framework of Language by Grade 8 so knowledge of this qualification would be useful. (DELE)

Compensation & Benefits

The annual salary range is $38 – 40k pa (reviewed annually). We also offer health care, and support with transition such as assistance with upfront housing costs. The job start is immediate.

Requirements

· A minimum bachelor’s degree in language education.

· Native French speaker or near native

· Excellent English speaker.

· At least two years teaching experience.

· Ability to provide a background check from the state of current residence.

· Preferred first aid and CPR qualified (training can be provided)

State requirements

· Either a negative Tuberculosis skin test or x ray proving that you are clear of TB

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
