Term: FulltimePosition Summary:The team hiring for this position is working with C# in the Azure cloud to provide a business wide event driven platform that will be the basis for many mission critical applications across the company.The role of the Lead Software Engineer is to foster a team of innovative and highly performing software engineers in a rapidly growing, highly technical and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and the drive and skill to help team members succeed technically and professionally.The Lead Software Engineer is expected to own projects and deliverables and communicate proactively with business partners, the agile team and upper management. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Work in an Agile Scrum environment, focusing on sustainable development of high performance scalable, and maintainable enterprise solutions.
  • Collaborate with the team to facilitate design discussions around architecture and business requirements with Architects, Product Owners, and Business Analysts. Take ownership of undefined and unbounded problems and work with the team to create and deliver scalable designs and solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, direction, and oversight of development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement and development best practices across products, teams, architecture, and implementations.
  • Ensure successful system delivery to the production environment and assist the operations and support team in resolving production issues, as necessary.
  • Team development, coaching and providing feedback to individual team members, training and support so all team members have and use required technical competencies.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding best practices.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Significant experience in software development delivering solutions into production and a track record of getting stuff done.
  • Self-motivating, self-directing, a great communicator, and a desire to take personal responsibility to complete tasks and solve problems.
  • Experienced in working on large enterprise, high-availability, software products.
  • Experience with the .NET development stack, preferably .NET Core
  • Must have experience with

    NOSQL databases.
  • Experience in

    Microservice Architecture, implementation, deployment and testing.
  • Experience with

    Azure containers, App Services, and Service Fabric a plus.
  • Experience developing software in an agile environment and shipping features in a fast-moving, cross-disciplinary team (Product Owners, Designers, Business Analysts, QA, etc.)
  • Experience successfully working remotely and/or with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Insurance industry and/or Financial Services experience is a plus.

  • Ability to work on call support including weekends on rotational basis as needed.
