Job Summary This position will be a member of the Financial Controls team, performing the accounting, analysis and deliverables associated with financial controls. Responsibilities will include assisting in daily and month-end account reconciliations, completing reconciliations, providing detail in support of audit requests and research on outstanding account balances. This is an individual contributor role. Job Responsibilities • Prepare daily journal entries as well as analysis and reporting of results • Work collaboratively with other departments within the company to ensure accuracy of the supporting data used to record transactions to the ledger • Perform monthly account reconciliations and work with various departments to clear open reconciling items • Contribute to the compilation of audit requests • Research data requests and provide supporting details on account balances • Recommend systems and business process changes/improvements to support the processing o accurate financial data • Participate in ad-hoc projects, as requested Job Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related major • 3-6 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting and analysis preferably in the financial services or insurance industries. • Commitment to meeting deadlines and ability to manage conflicting demands • Detail oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Flexibility to work individually, as well as a team member • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically with a strong knowledge of Excel • Proficiency with Oracle General Ledger and experience with Business Object queries • High level of integrity and confidentiality • Knowledge of Group Insurance products or similar insurance or financial institution knowledge is a strong plus
