Dimensional Engineer

Job Title: Dimensional EngineerDescription: STG is a SEI CMMi Level 5 company with several Fortune 500 and State Government clients. STG has opening for Dimensional Engineers. These positions based in Detroit and Warren, MI are for a Fortune 500 client of STG and expected to be long term. STG will provide immigration and permanent residency sponsorship assistance to candidates in the US, if needed.Position Description:Develops and maintains list of critical product and process characteristics for Body Shop and Stamping Plants. Recommends best gauging methods. Performs data analysis to identify special and common cause problems. Helps in development and roll-out of training material. Support plants in root causing dimensional issues. Work with cross-functional team to recommend and evaluate corrective action. Documents case studies. Responsibilities will include Interior and Exterior dimensional validation, Creating Kaizens and eCims from QAF build issues and part validation, Root cause analysis, ensuring part availability for the QAF builds, Launch support and supplier interfaceBasic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge in basic statistics and process control required. -Strong communication skills with ability to work with a cross-functional teams. Understanding of GD-T. Familiarity with metrology equipment for root cause diagnostics. -Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree preferred. -Experience in using statistical analysis applications. Good data analysis skills. ex: Minitab or equivalent statistical package. Knowledge in advanced statistical concepts.May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.
