Release Train EngineerKey Tasks:- Create release communications for each release
- Create the release tickets in JIRA ensuring the all artifacts and process are in compliance
- Review release notes and provide feedback as needed
- Solicit and ensure release approvals are attained and documented
- Hold release review meetings with each product and system owners
- Maintain and communicate release testing environment credentials
- Participate in hands on release testing meetings with each of the Product owners, BAs and Team leads
- Perform a manual smoke test at the end of the release
- Ensure operation ticket is opened and approved for Ansible configuration changes.
- Perform test and production releases:
- Perform proactive release preparation such as adding secrets to secrets manager, adding IAM roles, staging files/scripts, backups if needed etc.,
- Perform test release
- Troubleshoot environment/system related issues, Facilitate troubleshooting with DEV/Data team by providing requested information from CCB environments.
- Create base version description document (VDD, implementation plan and security impact assessment (SIA)
- Work with each sprint team to identify infrastructure and other dependencies for a release.
- Get the release branches ready for all the repos included in the release.
- Manage patches to release branch. Most of the time there are 1-2 patches.
- Work with test team to test DEVP/IMPLP environments after deployment
- Coordinate with data team for data migrations, data cleanup/prep
- Work with the Agile Project Manager to define and refine Agile Release Trains
- 5+ Years of release management experience in an Agile development environment
- 7+ Years of IT experience
- SAFe based Agile Release Train management
- Configuration management
- Knowledge of CI/CD environments
- Computer Science degree or Bachelor's Degree in a related major
