Our alliances with industry-leading technology organizations have been instrumental to our success and allow us to offer robust solutions that are highly scalable and supportable using the best technologies available.The Sr. Data Analyst will be responsible developing an understanding of the business and department processes in order to provide data analysis, highlight insights, and recommend solutions/improvements that enable the department to operate more efficiently and improve performance.The ideal candidate will be part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues related to the financial organizations systems, processes, and data/reporting needs. The candidate will also be responsible for representing the finance organization as a data and process consultant for projects, system changes and other related initiatives. Responsibilities:- Define business requirements and technical specifications in order to develop data visualizations and dashboards that provide insights to the finance organization
- Facilitate resolution of system issues impacting the organization.
- Research issues and work with appropriate departments to resolve system issues as well as internal process issues.
- Create opportunities to automate processes where possible
- Build relationships to effectively partner with various departments in the development and implementation of process efficiency and system projects.
- Work closely with business partners and vendors for training, changes, upgrades, etc.
- Participate in review processes with process owners, to find efficiencies that can be implemented by utilizing systems or reporting in the most efficient manner.
- Support in revisions, as necessary, to processes associated with new technology platforms
- Create, maintain and administer reporting packages
- Support and ensure the integrity of reporting and Ad Hoc queries/analysis; address reporting and ad hoc analysis requests and issues
- Creating detailed data requirements for specific projects
- Identify master data sources and understand the origin and derivation of data
- Participate in data validation in support of Data Governance activities
- Work with other the Data Analysts to assist in documentation of the data definitions, rules and metrics
- BA/BS Degree required, preferred area of study Computer Engineering or Computer and Information Science; MBA is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in data reporting and analytics
- 5+ years of experience with SQL
- Willingness to understand transactional and operational accounting/finance
- Possess an understanding of business intelligence (BI) including data collection, analysis and presentation
- Must have the ability to research data issues and leverage data skills to troubleshoot
- Knowledge of data management, ETL and visualization tools – Cognos, PowerBI, Tableau
- Basic knowledge of Data Governance, specifically with Data Lineage, Data Flows, and Governance
- Experience with working in large, complex data sets and creating ad-hoc queries
- Must possess Project management skills related to organizing, planning, time management, scheduling, documentation and meeting deadlines
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to communicate both written and verbally with all levels within the organization
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
