Senior Application Engineer - Data Flow

Looking for heavy Python Scripter who is well versed in any flavor of Linux Administration or Linux Engineering. Someone who wants to create their own environment is what we need. TOP SECRET/SCI WITH FULL SCOPE POLYGRAPH IS AN ABOSLUTE REQUIREMENT FOR THIS POSITION. It will take approximately 6-10 weeks to process the clearance before you will be able to start. Our client is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to join the Data Services team on a fast-paced, highly skilled team utilizing cutting edge computing technologies. You will work collaboratively with external groups and the software development team and have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be willing to operate in a dynamic environment, and possess strong interpersonal, problem solving, and decision-making skills. You will also collaborate with customers, subject matter experts, and senior technical and programmatic leadership.

• Utilize technologies like Linux, NiFi, and other tools to ingest and manage large data flows
• Use data science and network security subject matter expertise to analyze and make actionable alerts from extremely large data sets
• Responsible for managing and configuring NiFi clusters

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph Clearance
• Design, configure, and manage multiple processing system dataflows
• Evaluate and validate dataflow formats and work with developers to correct errors or enhance content
• Devise methods to improve dataflow processing, distribution and reliability
• Participates in requirements engineering, designing, and the rollout of Data Flow Systems for efficiency and accuracy
• In depth knowledge and experience with Linux systems
• Experience with NiFi and dataflow management:
• Experience with NiFi expression language such as Boolean logic, string manipulation, searching and data manipulation
• Configuration Management tools i.e., Puppet, Salt
• In-depth knowledge of syslog
• Ability to quickly learn how to deploy, customize, and maintain open source software
• Working with large volumes of data
• Ability to solve problems quickly and automate solutions
• Ability to modify systems to meet new security requirements
• Ability to participate in setting strategic direction for system architecture
• Maintain system documentation, SSPs, and SOPs
• Viewed as an expert in the system by peers

• Network flow data (netflow, sflow, bro, etc.) subject matter expertise
• Network administration background (firewall experience a plus)
• Regular expressions (regex) expertise
• Experience with NoSQL databases & Elastic Stack
• Good technical infrastructure design skills
