Job Description: The Product Development IT Architect position will be involved with the definition of Business and IT Architecture for value streams concerned primarily with Product Development and its integration with Purchasing, Manufacturing and Customer Experience.

Skills Required:
  • 3+ years of architecture modelling methods experience to include:
    • Information/Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical)
    • Process Modelling (e.g. Process Flow, Critical Path, Swim lane)
    • Business Integration Models (e.g. Business and IT Landscape, Interfaces)
    • Architecture models (e.g. Zachman framework)
    • Diagramming (e.g. Rich Picture, Metaphors, Information Systems, Value streams)
  • Experience with methods/tools for data integration and transformation (ETL, Profiling, Cleanup)
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Agile development methodology

Experience Preferred:
  • Strong business consulting skill set (facilitation skills, written and oral communication skills)
  • Strong ability to self-manage and develop work plans which employ appropriate methods to resolve ambiguity and build consensus for an architectural solution
  • Excellent time management and digital worker skills (MS Office, WebEx)
  • Proven leadership skills in working with senior-level management to guide decision making
  • Experience working as a DBA on database design, implementation and maintenance
  • Good presentation skills with ability to communicate architectural proposals to diverse audiences (user groups, stakeholders and senior management)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills that include leading problem-solving teams
  • Self-Starter with ability to work both independently and within group/team environment
  • Knowledge of Product Development process/tools in Ford or another company including PLM, ALM, and Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Experience with establishing Master Data (MDM) and Information Standards
  • Knowledge and experience with full application/system development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of TOGAF Architecture Standards
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) methods and implementation technologies such as web services and enterprise level APIs
  • Experience in dealing with external suppliers/vendors with respect to consultancy and/or purchase solutions
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks, patterns, and reference architectures
  • Familiar with Ford Agile Framework, Rally and other backlog management solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with architecture governance processes and conducting architecture reviews and evaluations
  • Previous experience as architect on large scale product or enterprise initiatives
  • Self-researcher with ability to research a technology and provide insight to project team

Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field
