Job Description: Responsible for understanding and supporting the business through the design, development, and implementation of applications, application enhancements and new capabilities. This position is expected to provide technical leadership in every stage of the development lifecycle, from analysis and design to program coding, testing, release and maintenance while adhering to current System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes. They will work closely with various customers including their immediate project teams, business domain experts, and other technical staff members.

Job Responsibilities: Technical Design:
  • Translates business and technical requirements into designs that satisfy the business needs while complying with the approved coding standards and best practices.
  • Ensure all code designs are reviewed and approved with the internal architecture team, where applicable.
  • Ensure all code designs meet or exceed application performance expectations.
  • Participate and/or host technical discussions/topics during JAD sessions.
  • Participate and offer insight during internal developer community meetings.
Code Development:
  • Develops and enhances application and database queries to meet or exceed business requirements and performance standards.
  • Develops unit testing that adhere to TDD development best practices, ensuring all the code deliveries are performing to specification.
  • Ensure all code development follows internal best practice standards for version control. This includes checking in code component for every assigned requirement with the appropriate notations regarding how and why a particular issues was fixed or enhancements introduced.
  • Manage multiple streams of development for a given application.
Testing:
  • Leads validation efforts by performing and/or assisting others in validating the solution performs as expected. This includes, and is not limited to, system integration testing, performance testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and defect remediation.
  • Determine code components for consideration for testing automation.
  • Develop test automation scripts using latest tools and technology.
Deployment and Production Support:
  • Provides assistance in a host of production support activities that include Break/Fix support, maintenance upgrades for hardware and software, supportability improvements, transition activities, audit and compliance support, small enhancements, etc.
  • Ensures that all code development meets/exceeds all internal change control process toll gates.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Math or related field plus 2 years of development experience is preferred – OR - 5 years of comparable work experience.
  • 2 years of development experience
  • 2 years of experience with various SDLC methods such as Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, etc.
  • Good understanding of common coding languages such as JAVA, JavaScript, C, C#, & Python
  • Experience designing and building technical solutions using applicable technologies; demonstrated strength in coding skills
  • Good understanding of relational databases and ability to write basic queries (SQL and PL/SQL)
  • Some experience with web services, executing calls and interpreting responses (SOAP or REST)
  • Some experience building, writing and executing test cases (using technologies such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git, QTP, LoadRunner, is a plus)
  • Good communicator - Ability to communicate verbally and in technical writing to all levels of the organization in a proactive, contextually appropriate manner
  • Good problem solving skills, strong analytic skills with experience in applying root cause analysis
  • Some experience with incident management, leading both on and off-hours ad hoc support teams
  • Some experience with various Software Development Methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, etc.
  • Good experience in interpreting customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements
  • Able to prioritize work by dividing time, attention and effort between current project workload and on-going support tasks
  • Proven ability to adapt to changes in processes, procedures, and priorities
  • Strong organizational skills
MUST HAVE: VB Script experience. DESIRED: Black Knight MSP Platform experience
