- Lead a team of Database Administrators and Engineers with varying skill levels
- Develop and maintain relationships between the Database team and the other technology teams
- Maintain awareness of the department budget, influence budget planning, and model the financial impact of decisions
- Define long-term strategy and prioritize strategic and technical tasks
- Develop business cases for strategic initiatives
- Facilitate technical conversations to arrive at succinct decisions and tasks
- Leverage team and individual goals to measure performance and drive outcomes. Regularly report progress towards goals
- Measure team performance with metrics
- Facilitate incident response
- Participate in the Change Management and Problem Management processes
- Make staffing recommendations
- Demonstrated understanding and experience managing database platforms
- Well-practiced troubleshooting methodology
- Desire to act support the team and drive results through the work of others
- Experience automating tasks or leading the automation of repeatable work
- Familiarity with leading an Agile Scrum team and the Scrum process
- Understand product licensing and budget forecasting
- Ability to communicate complex topics across all audiences
- Focus on continuous personal development
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- More than 8 years’ experience as an administrator or engineer on a database platform
- At least 1-2 years as a team lead or manager preferred
