job summary:The Infrastructure Automation and Configuration Management engineer will support the development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as the control mechanism for the management of infrastructure systems and components using current enterprise configuration management platforms.

Required Skills:
  • In depth knowledge of Linux (RHEL), Microsoft Windows, networking, and security technologies as they apply to applications.
  • Experience with configuration management platforms such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc. (Ansible preferred).
  • Experience in at least one of the following scripting and/or configuration management languages: Bash, Ksh, MS batch files, PowerShell, Perl, Python, Ruby, YAML.
  • Experience with web development methodologies and languages, particularly REST API based architectures.
  • Experience with the Red Hat suite of products including RHEL, Red Hat Ansible Tower, and Red Hat Satellite.
  • Experience with the Microsoft suite of products including SCCM, WSUS, etc.
  • Team oriented but self-motivated and driven, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working in both a classic datacenter and hybrid cloud environment.
  • Experience in operations including on-call rotations, off hours support and working with demanding customers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn.
  • Analytic and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of Project management and associated skills.
  • Experience with application monitoring systems - Zenoss, ManageEngine, AppDynamics, SolarWinds etc.
  • Experience with configuration management including in a containerized environment as well as classic infrastructure.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry including insurance, finance, medical, legal or energy.
  • Progressively increasing responsibilities and technical knowledge.

  • Facilitate automation of enterprise patch management of Windows and Linux (RHEL) environments leveraging in-house tools to build Ansible playbooks, scripts, etc.
  • Development and operational management of infrastructure components and processes involving continual obsolescence management and patching of the environment.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the underlying configuration management systems, scripts, and playbooks for the provisioning and management of enterprise operating systems, platforms and applications.
  • Determine continual improvement opportunities for introducing automation in the environment.
  • Utilize automation scripts and playbooks to deploy and configure system environments.
  • Determine methods for managing configuration drift in the environment on the OS and Middleware levels.
