The Junior Software Developer will work as part of an agile development team supporting, building and enhancing enterprise grade software systems using full stack development (React, Express, and Apollo). The Junior Software Developer is involved in all areas of development including support, design, development and testing. The Junior Software Developer reports to an Information Technology Supervisor. This position is based in San Antonio.ResponsibilitiesSpecific Duties (include, but are not limited to the following)

  • Provide complex technical second-level support to business users (Tier II Support) and assistance to clients via email, phone, and/or other remote methods;
  • Work within an agile team to develop, test, and maintain web and desktop-based business applications built on multiple technologies;
  • Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards;
  • Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code;
  • Package and support the deployment of releases;
  • Work with team members in the migration of older applications to current technologies;
  • Develop, refactor, and tune integrations between applications;
  • Analyze and resolve technical and application problems;
  • Assist in the collection and documentation of requirements, user stories, and estimates;
  • Prepare reports, guides, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software;
  • Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time.
  • Other duties as assigned;
Qualifications & Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
  • 2 Years of Related Experience;
  • Exposure to web development using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript;
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming concepts;
  • Understanding of web services and API concepts;
  • Familiarity with version control concepts;
  • Strong desire to learn;
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required;
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is highly desirable;
  • Exposure to full stack development using React, Express (Node), and Apollo (GraphQL);
  • Familiarity working with relational databases;
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems;
  • Knowledge of client/server application development;
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies;
  • Knowledge of unit testing theory;
