You might be just who we need. LightManufacturing Inc, http://www.lm.solar, seeks a Sustainable Manufacturing Molding Technician for our Kailua-Kona operation.

Our preferred candidate has technical experience in manufacturing or related fields, is good working with their hands, is interested in sustainable technology, and wants to build a career in Kailua-Kona. Must be able to commit to 35+ daytime hours per week, with occasional weekend work. Your character, technical ability, references, and ability to work both independently and with a team are critical.

Job Description:

You’ll be assisting with the production of large, sustainably-molded objects using our solar molding systems. You will be making products such as water tanks at our indoor/outdoor test site located within the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority, http://nelha.hawaii.gov/. The work includes running production equipment, testing and repairing our advanced molding systems, communicating with engineers and programmers (onsite and off), and interacting with the public. The work is physically challenging, interesting, and performed in a unique work environment – mostly in open air under the sun.

Necessary Qualifications:

- Character: Honest, hard-working, kind, and interested in making a positive impact.

- Strong Work Ethic: You can work hard on a variety of tasks independently or with a team, but also not afraid to ask questions when needed.

- Teamwork: Able to work well with other team members, and can be assigned tasks by a manager.

- Problem Solving Ability: Creative and tenacious, you’ve worked through some challenging troubleshooting and repairs.

- Interest in sustainability, solar technology, recycling, and green manufacturing.

- Hand and power tools are your friends.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.

- Valid driver’s license.

Bonus Qualifications:

- Customer service skills

- Experience using 3D CAD programs such as SolidWorks, Alibre, etc.

- Computer skills: You may be familiar with scripting or programming, you’ve built a gaming PC, experimented with arduino hacking or robotics - all are relevant.

- Familiarity with electrical components and systems
