Administrative LPNDescriptionPathways Center’s Care Campus in Newnan, GA has two 24/7 Emergency Receiving Facilities; one for adults and one for children ages 5-17. Attached to the Adult Center is a walk-in/triage clinic where individuals experiencing a behavioral health and/or substance abuse related emergency can voluntarily walk-in to be assessed in order to determine the appropriate level of care needed. Pathways Center’s walk-in clinic also assesses individuals brought to the Care Campus involuntarily for treatment. Pathways Center's Care Campus Centers are short term (2-7 days), medically monitored residential programs, which offer services for a limited duration to stabilize acute psychiatric or behavioral symptoms, evaluate treatment needs, and develop plans to meet the needs of persons served. The centers operate 24 hours per day 7 days per week.The Administrative Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is based out of the walk-in center and is focused on monitoring the state of Georgia’s Behavioral Health Link (BHL) board for referrals to the emergency receiving facilities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Serves as the point of contact for patient referrals from hospitals, local authorities, and other residential/treatment facilities to help treat someone experiencing a behavioral health and/or a substance abuse emergency

Reviews potential children and adults listed on the state of Georgia’s behavioral health link (BHL) online referral board

Puts potential children and adults under review for possible acceptance to the Adult Center or Child Center

Reaches out to referring hospital and/or other treatment facility to discuss physical and behavioral health history and obtain treatment paperwork

Completes internal patient referral forms and contacts the attending physician to present/discuss for possible admission

If decision is made to admit for treatment, works with Admissions RN to prepare for arrival to walk-in clinic for initial assessment and prescribed initial treatment

Updates the BHL board to show patients acceptance to Pathways Center’s treatment facilities

Updates the electronic health record system with patient information reflecting the number of patient beds that are occupied

Works with Floor/Unit nurses throughout shift to update any discharges in the electronic heath record system and the state of Georgia’ online behavioral health link board referral system (Note: the number of available and occupied beds for both the adult and child center should be the same at all times in both systems)

Assists Admissions RN, as needed, in providing initial treatment while awaiting admission to center

Assists Admissions RN, as needed, in discharging patients from walk-in center who, after assessment, were referred for other forms of treatment

Must be willing to be cross trained as a Floor/Unit LPN to learn and understand full scope of treatment process
