Resource Development Director
Livingston County Habitat for Humanity

Purpose:
Develop, implement and manage the fundraising, marketing and resource generation plans of Livingston County Habitat for Humanity with the primary objective of raising money by keeping the affiliates' name and mission in front of the public. Engage and motivate prospects and donors to financially support the affiliate's mission of building more houses and serving more families and individuals in need in Livingston County. Coordinate and engage volunteers for construction and other events.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, communications or public relations
Background in project management including planning, budgeting, staffing and reporting
Demonstrated ability to raise money through individual and corporate giving programs including major gifts, membership programs, sponsorships and special events.
Demonstrated expertise in all forms of social media
Familiarity with the key funding sources for non-profit organizations
Grant writing and planned giving/bequests/endowment experience is a plus
Local area network of contacts, associates, friends, prospects, organizations, etc
Must be proficient in data base and prospect research systems and management
Outstanding communication skills; in particular, the ability to make compelling presentations to diverse groups and to prepare well written proposals, public relations and marketing materials
Training with various institutions that focus on resource development and philanthropy is desirable
Understand the legal requirements for non-profit reporting
Understand and support the vision of Livingston County Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity International
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Develop and implement donor cultivation and solicitation programs
Develop and sustain productive relationships with major gift constituencies including business and corporate sponsors, churches and individual donors
Develop and implement annual giving programs, including but not limited to direct mail, matching gifts, monthly giving, board members and online giving
Assist with the management and effective use of Habitat database relating to donors, timely donor recognition and fundraising activity
Write, update and evaluate an annual fund development and marketing plan
Grant Management
Research grant funding opportunities to support annual operating fund and capital giving for homebuilding needs
Maintain annual calendar of grant activity and deadlines
Research, write and submit proposals for funding and prepare reports and other documents related to grant activity
Special Events
Plan, direct, and run our signature event (Home is the Key Gala)
Plan, direct, and run our golf outing (Holes for Hero’s)
Plan, direct, and run our women’s luncheon (Arise and Shine)
Develop and assist staff with annual meeting and volunteer recognition event planning and implementation
Volunteer Management
Engage local business and corporation for volunteer days
Schedule, organize, and execute volunteer days
Create a memorable experience for all volunteers
